Skins of Carnage

(2010-2015)

The Skins of Carnage series expresses the unspeakable violence and carnage which seems inexplicably inherent to human-kind as a tool of manipulation and an antidote to shame and humiliation, as well as an act of survival through primal instincts. The looming presence of death within the pieces serve as a reminder of the mortality of life. The manipulation of the materials used further articulates the fragility of our being. The pieces range in size, with the smallest being 24x36” and the largest approximately 48x60”. The size of the works forces the viewer to face a dark subject.
