Centerfolds

(2017-2018)

The imagery in these three Centerfold pieces (approximately 11x48”) are meant to draw attention to taboo topics such as female sexuality, sex work, and human exploitation. Additionally, undertones of race and class inequity are also present. Within the work, graphic scenes of self-pleasure are censored by images of childhood innocence. The women depicted challenge the audience through a direct gaze, as though they find their work empowering and liberating.
